About The Covered Edit

The Covered Edit started the way a lot of things do — with a conversation between the two of us.

For years, Erika would spend what felt like hours searching for clothes online. Not because she couldn't find beautiful clothes, but because finding beautiful clothes that also matched her coverage preferences was surprisingly difficult.

A dress would look perfect until she noticed the sleeves were too short. Another would have the right length but a neckline that didn't quite work. Sometimes the photos weren't clear enough to tell. Other times, it meant opening ten tabs, comparing options, reading reviews, and hoping for the best.

We found ourselves having the same conversations over and over again.

"There has to be an easier way."

The more we talked about it, the more we realized this wasn't just Erika's experience. Women from many different backgrounds—whether shopping for faith-based reasons, work, special occasions, or simply personal preference—were facing the same challenge.

Finding modest clothing wasn't the hard part.

Finding modest clothing that was also fashionable, current, and easy to discover was.

So we started brainstorming.

What if there was a place that did some of the homework for you? A place where you could quickly identify pieces that matched your preferences without spending hours digging through retailer websites.

What started as casual conversations between the two of us slowly turned into a real project.

Together, we created The Covered Edit as a way to help women discover clothing that matches their coverage preferences while still feeling stylish, modern, and wearable.

As we developed The Covered Edit, we also created the Modesty Compatibility Score (MCS).

The MCS evaluates clothing based on factors modest shoppers often care about, including:

• Sleeve coverage
• Neckline coverage
• Length
• Transparency
• Wearability
• Adaptability
• Versatility

The goal isn't to tell anyone how they should dress.

Everyone's definition of modesty is personal.

The MCS is simply a tool designed to help shoppers spend less time guessing and more time finding pieces they feel good in.

Today, The Covered Edit is still very much a family-built project.

We're learning as we go, listening to feedback, and continuing to improve the platform one step at a time.

Our hope is simple: to help women spend less time searching and more time finding beautiful clothing they actually want to wear.
